Twitter is a social network service, established in 2006, that allows its users to send short messages called 'tweets' on a mobile device or computer. These messages are 140 characters or less. Twitter was created by four partners: Biz Stone, Evan Williams, Jack Dorsey, and Noah Glass, in March of 2006. It was launched in July 2006 and by 2012, 340 million tweets were being sent each day. The first Twitter message was sent by Jack Dorsey on March 21, 2006 at 9:50pm. It simply stated 'just setting up my twttr'.
