Siri Facts
Siri is part of the Apple Inc. operating system, considered to be an intelligent personal assistant. The system uses voice questions by the user and can make recommendations as well as perform actions instructed by the user. Results are individualized and the software is able to adapt to the language of the user and preferences as it continues to be used. Originally Siri was developed by SRI International Intelligence Center and later further developed through Apple Inc. Nuance Communications provided the speech recognition software and the original voice actors provided voices in American, British and Australian accents. In 2010 Siri was released as an app and then Apple released it in 2011 for the iPhone 4S.
