* Description/Instructions
Southern Rhodesia was annexed by the UK in 1923. In 1961, a constitution favoring the whites in power was adopted. The government unilaterally declared independence in 1965, but it was not recognized by the UK because it did not include voting rights for the black majority. UN sanctions and a guerrilla war led to free elections in 1979, and independence and a new name, Zimbabwe, in 1980. The country has been ruled since then by Robert Mugabe. His regime has been chaotic in many ways. Please choose the correct answers to the following questions.
