Born to Buddy Valastro, Sr. and Mary Valastro, Buddy grew up in Little Ferry, New Jersey.
|March, 1988||Buddy began his bakery career.
At the age of eleven, Buddy began working in Carlo’s Bakery. He worked alongside his father and mother, the owners of the bakery, who brought the bakery from Sicily to Hoboken in 1963.
|March 3, 1992||Buddy travelled with his father.
Although he came from a large family, Buddy’s father took only him on a trip to Sicily. There, Buddy and Buddy Sr. visited bakeries. Buddy Jr. learned to bake Italian goods and became interested in the art involved in decorating cakes.

Buddy spent his formative years icing cakes, baking crostata, and filling cannolis. The original cake boss, Buddy’s father, passed away and left the bakery and the title to Buddy.
|March, 1999||Buddy’s grandmother passed away.
One of Buddy’s idols, his grandmother, passed away. She was known for baking with lobsters and Buddy know honors her with one of his most popular lobster dishes.
|October 14, 2001||Buddy was married.
Buddy married his wife Lisa Belgiovine. She is now a part owner and employee of Buddy’s bakery.
|2003||Buddy and his wife build a family(2003-2007).
Between 2003 and 2007, Buddy and his wife have had four children. One of them currently works at the bakery.
|2004||Buddy competed on national television.
Buddy was invited to participate on the Food Network Challenge. On television, Buddy realized he had a gift for clever sound bites and one-liners, which made him an excellentn choice to be a network star. He won a challenge and earned $10,000.
|April, 2009||Cake Boss premiered on TLC.
The Hoboken bakery gained so much popularity since the premiere of the show that a new location had to be opened in the Lackawanna Center in New Jersey. The new location specialized in baking and shipping special orders across the country.
|November 2, 2010||Buddy published his first book.
Cake Boss: Stories and Recipes from Mia Famiglia was published by Free Press to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Carlo’s Bake Shop. The book focuses on the bakery and the history of the Valastro family.
|January 25, 2011||The debut of Kitchen Boss.
A spinoff series, Kitchen Boss premiered on January 25 of 2011. Bobby is featured presenting recipes from his family. The show includes many family members as special guests.
|May 24, 2011||The first branch location opened.
Cake Boss Café opened in Times Square in New York City. This particular location is known for selling smaller Cake Boss baked items, merchandise, and brunch.
|November 1, 2011||Buddy’s second book was published.
Free Press published a book of Buddy’s famous recipes. Inside, Buddy offers pastry tips and decorating ideas.

Buddy Valastro was named as honorable mention on the Hudson Reporter’s list of the fifty most influential people of Hudson County.
