Telling Time

Clocks use two hands to tell the time. The shorter hand tells the hour-it points on or between the big numbers on a clock face. If the hand is not directly on a number, the last number it has passed is the hour. So if the hand is between the 2 and the 3, it is still the 2 o'clock hour. The longer hand is the minute hand. It points to the number of minutes, indicated by 60 tick marks around the outside edge of the clock.
