Using a Dash to Include an Emphasized Aside in a Sentence

Information set off with a dash is emphasized, but may be off track from the sentence. It can also indicate an interruption to the sentence.
Examples: I will now tell you tomorrow's winning lottery numbers – just kidding!
Now, take out your homework – please stop talking! – and begin with the first problem.
After school I have track practice – I'm so tired already!
