Run vs. Jog

Run vs. Jog

Run – (verb) to go quickly by moving the legs more rapidly than in a walk and in such a manner that each step or both feet are off the ground.

Example:

1. "My dog likes to run, but my cat likes to lay."

2. "Let's run to the bus stop, or we'll miss it."

Jog – (verb) to run at a leisurely, slow pace, especially as an outdoor exercise.

Example:

1. "I like to jog around the block a few times in the morning for exercise."

2. "In P.E. class, we jog around the court a few times to warm up."

*Tip/Hint: Running and jogging are the same activity, but running is done more quickly and at a faster pace than jogging.
