Disclaimer Examples


A disclaimer is a statement of denial or rejection. Many times you will see disclaimer statements related to a denial of responsibility. Disclaimer statements often will outline the limits of responsibility or rights.

Examples of Disclaimer:

This is a public beach, but there is no lifeguard on duty. Swim at your own risk.

This book is a collection of essays by various writers. The publishing company is not responsible, or does it necessarily share, the opinions expressed herein.

Excerpt from Wikipedia's General Disclaimer: "Wikipedia is an online open-content collaborative encyclopedia; that is, a voluntary association of individuals and groups working to develop a common resource of human knowledge. The structure of the project allows anyone with an Internet connection to alter its content. Please be advised that nothing found here has necessarily been reviewed by people with the expertise required to provide you with complete, accurate or reliable information."

Excerpt from the "Terms of Use" on the Coca-Cola Website: "Neither Coca-Cola nor its affiliated entities, nor any of its agencies, nor any other party involved in creating, producing, or delivering the Site, is liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect, or punitive damages or losses arising out of or in connection with your access to, or use of, the Site, its features or any Content made available through the site."

Excerpt from the "Terms of Use" on the Fox News Website: "FOX News expressly disclaims any warranties and conditions of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non - infringement. In particular, FOX News makes no warranty that your use of the FOX News Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error - free."
