Tina Turner is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26th, 1939, in Haywood County, Tennessee, to Zelma Priscilla and Floyd Richard Bullock. As a child Tina and her sister were separated from their parents so that they could work in a defense facility. They were reunited after World War II. Her mother ran off when Tina was 11, to escape the abuse from her father. When Tina was about 16, and began to frequent nightclubs she first saw her future husband on stage - Ike Turner. She soon joined Ike on stage and her first studio recording was Box Top, under the name Little Ann.

Tina Turner's album titled Nutbush City Limits was named after the town she was born in.
Tina Turner's first song A Fool For Love occurred because the singer who was supposed to record it did not show up and Ike Turner pushed to have Tina do it instead.
A Fool For Love hit #2 on the R&B charts. It reached the top 30 in the pop charts as well.
Ike and Tina were married in 1962. They divorced in 1978.
Ike Turner often dressed Tina Turner up in flashy clothes and short skirts. He often became jealous when she received the attention he had hoped for.
The biggest hit that Ike and Tina Turner had together was Proud Mary.
Tina divorced Ike Turner because of abuse.

In 1985 Tina Turner starred alongside Mel Gibson in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Two songs she recorded for the movie - We Don't Need Another Hero and One for the Living, became hits and Tina won a Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.
In 1988 Tina Turner broke a world record. She has the largest audience ever at a live paid solo concert. There were 184,000 in the audience for her Break Every Rule tour in Rio de Janeiro at the Maracana.
In 1991 Tina Turner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In 1994 Tina Turner and her boyfriend Erwin Bach moved to Switzerland after giving up her American citizenship to become a Swiss citizen.
In 2001 the Tennessee State Route 19 was renamed Tina Turner Highway.
In 2005 Tina Turner was elected to the Kennedy Centre Honours. George W Bush commented later that evening that her legs were the most famous legs in show business.
Tina Turner and boyfriend Erwin Bach were married in 2013.
Tina has two sons with Ike Turner and two adopted sons fathered by Ike.
