Russian Blue Facts
Russian Blue is medium-sized cat that is native to Russia. It is also known as Archangel cat because it originates from the Archangel Isles in the northern part of Russia. Sailors brought Russian Blue to Europe in the 19th century but this breed nearly vanished during the WWII due to low number of purebred Russian Blue cats and frequent crossbreeding with Siamese cats. Luckily, Russian Blue managed to regain all of its typical traits (that were lost via crossbreeding) as soon as war was finished. Russian Blue can be found all over the world today.
