The political climate in the African continent during this period was one of turmoil and upheaval. Many looked to the political climates of Europe and saw the means for opportunity and independence within their own lives. As a result we see the struggle for political and social acknowledgement in South Africa and the violent and oppressive politics of dictators and tyrants.
