Organismal Biology: Plant Structure and Function Quiz
Quiz Overview
Description
Without plants, most of earth's animals would not exist. Plants (and certain bacteria) are autotrophs. Via photosynthesis they produce sugars and oxygen using carbon dioxide and the energy from the sun. In addition the sunlight and carbon dioxide, plants need water and minerals to survive. They have sophisticated structures -- roots, stems, and leaves -- which perform the essential processes of water absorption, circulation, photosynthesis, and growth.
