Grammar : Gerund or Infinitive? Quiz

 Quiz
 *Theme/Title:  Gerund or Infinitive?
 * Description/Instructions
A gerund is a noun made from a verb by adding "-ing."

Infinitives are the "to" form of the verb. The infinitive form of "learn" is "to learn."

Both gerunds and infinitives can be used as the subject of a sentence.

As the object of a sentence, gerunds and infinitives are usually not interchangeable.

The gerund form must be used when a verb comes after a preposition.

Some verbs require the infinitive after them; others require a gerund. In some cases either will be correct.

Select the correct form, either infinitive or gerund, in the following sentences.
