Prepositional phrases

Prepositions show relationships between parts of a sentence. They usually answer the question where or when. There are usually three parts to a prepositional phrase: the preposition, an article, and a noun, which is the object of the preposition. There may also be adjectives modifying the noun that is the object of the preposition.
Example: My homework is in my locker.
(The proposition is in, the article is my, and the noun or object of the preposition is locker.)
