Prepositional Phrases

Prepositional Phrase-a preposition is a part of speech that shows the relationship between a noun or pronoun and the other words in the sentence; a prepositional phrase is the entire phrase that includes the preposition and the object of the preposition.
Prepositional Phrases function as adjectives or adverbs in the sentence.
Example: The pot on the stove is hot. "on the stove" functions as an adjective telling us which pot
The cat crawled into the box. "into the box" tells us where the cat crawled-it is an adverb.
